Canon was founded in Tokyo, and its origin can
be traced back to the release of Japan’s first
35mm focal plane shutter camera in 1935; the
    Hansa Canon.
As the company progressed, they opened an
office in New York City in 1955
and     formally
incorporated as Canon U.S.A, Inc. in 1969

   Kyoesi......

The corporate philosophy of Canon is kyosei. A concise
definition of this word would be "Living and working
together for the common good," but Canon's definition
is broader: "All people, regardless of race, religion or
culture, harmoniously living and working together into
    the future."
