Casio was founded in Tokyo in 1946 by Kashio Tadao. The Company did not enter the camera market until 1987, when it released the VS-101, an electronic still camera that was an analog predecessor to today's digital cameras. Casio introduced its first digital camera eight years later.
The present Casio Exilim digital cameras feature a variety of models along three product lines: Card, High Speed, and Zoom. Casio Exilim Card Series cameras have large LCDs and optical zoom lenses in ultra-slim bodies. The Exilim Zoom Series is for budget-minded consumers seeking an all-purpose camera. Casio's latest series, the Exilim High Speed, is targeted at photographers demanding super high frame rates.
