 Shutter lag.  You know what I mean - the kids or your favorite
 pet perform some antic that you just must catch on camera - you
 grab your Digital Camera - point and click - and you miss the shot!  ‘Shutter lag’ is the pause that occurs between pressing the
  shutter
 and when the picture actually takes.

 This is a problem with many digital cameras. What happens is they
 auto-focus after you press the shutter button.
 You can overcome this problem with most digital cameras however
 
 If you press the shutter button half way down as you set up the
 picture this will lock in the focus.  This causes the shutter-lag time
 to be greatly reduced when you actually press the shutter button
 down fully.
